Some digital cameras have increased sensitivity to infrared light that can cause color rendition problems. The Tiffen Standard Hot Mirror filter is designed to remedy this problem by reflecting most infrared light away from the CCD's.  This prevents excessive infrared filtration from reaching the digital sensor of your camera and helps provide a truer digital image.
