Filmtools Magic Car Mount w/Leveler

The Filmtools Magic Car Mount is an easy-to-use system desgined to support cameras weighing up to 20 pounds (9.07 kg).  The system is comprised of 3 - 6" vacuum cups, modified Manfrotto Magic Arms, a cheese plate and mini-ball leveler.  The Magic Mount is an extremely flexible system that can be set-up in a wide-variety of configurations from hoods, doors, and fenders, to windshields and just about any other solid, non-porous surface. 

Each Suction Cup has a spring-balanced pump that ensures a consistent vacuum level and a red-line indicator to warn if there is any drop in holding power.  Just a few strokes of the plunger  removes air from between the vacuum pad and the mounting surface. As long as the mount's hold is secure, the plunger remains partially depressed inside the pump with red line hidden. If the red line appears, another stroke, or two will restore full holding power. A firm push, or pull on the rubber tab at the edge of the pad releases the mount when shooting is complete.

The aluminum 7.5" x 6" x 3/8" (19.05 x 15.24 x .95 cm) Cheese Plate has 35 - 3/8" diameter holes spaced at 1" intervals to provide maximum mounting flexibility. Corners are counter-sunk 82 degrees and the plate only weighs 1.65 lbs (.75 kg).

Manfrotto Magic Arms have a load capacity of 6.7 pounds (3.04 kg) each. Each high-quality aluminum 7/8" diameter arm measures 21" (53.34 cm) long each and weighs a mere 2.3 lbs (1.08 kg).

The Filmtools Mini-Ball Leveling Head is built like the larger ones used to support 35mm Panaflex and Arriflex cameras and is designed to work with camcorders weighing up to 25 pounds. The single lock-down knob quickly allows fine tuning of the camera's position. The unit's lightweight 2.15 pound (.98 kg), rugged 5" x 5.5" (12.7 x 13.97 cm) base is made of 3/8" 6061 T6 aluminum and has plenty of 3/8" mounting holes for maximum mounting flexibility. Interchangeable 3.5" x 5" camera plates are made of 1/4" aluminum. One has a 3/8" center slot for mounting cameras that have a 3/8"-16 threaded hole in the bottom and the other has a 1/4" slot for most Mini-DV Cameras.
