The Reflecmedia LiteRing/Chromatte Kit is an innovative, fully-functional portable chromakey system.The LiteRing has a series of Green Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), arranged in a circular casing positioned in front of the camera lens which provides the proper light level to illuminate the Chromatte background for accurate and pleasing chroma key values. A single LiteRing provides all the light required to illuminate the Chromatte background for chroma key production, eliminating the set-time and lights associated with conventional chroma key backdrops.Chromatte is a fabric designed specifically for use as a chroma key background. Unlike conventional chroma key fabrics that are usually blue or green in color, in ambient light Chromatte appears grey to the eye. However, the fabric contains millions of tiny glass beads that act as reflectors when light (such as the directional light from Reflecmedia's lens-mounted LiteRing) hits the fabric and is returned on the same path back into the camera's lens. This retro-reflective process means the camera 'sees' the apparently grey fabric as a perfectly even blue or green background. This unique ReflecMedia system makes it easy and more affordable than ever to take chroma key production out of the studio and into any controlled lighting environment.
